celebrating women

It's really funny how women's day is only celebrated by the women and not even acknowledged by the vast majority of men. The morning started with a deluge of sms from various women wishing me a happy women's day and not a single one from any of my male friends. Not content with that some of them had the notion of poking fun at the idea of having a day reserved for celebrating women. I was asked why should women who clamour for equality be treated as beings worthy of celebrating. I feel that every women has the right to be treated by men as their intelluctual equal, but nevertheless she's someone precious and deserved to be pampered and cossetted whenever the opportunity presents itself, after all women never step back from doing that to those who need her. I've realised that in some matters only a woman can truly understand another woman.
